Grizzly Goes Canadian, Eh?

All you woodworkers north of the 49th parallel , Im talking to those way north where its not convenient to drive to Washington State or into Pennsylvania , you now have the opportunity to purchase machines and other woodworking related stuff from Grizzly Industrial Inc.

Canadians couldn’t buy tools from an American company until recently. The company made a special deal to have UPS automatically process Canadian customs paperwork. President of Grizzly Shiraz Balolia says that the company receives high volume brokerage discounts and lower freight prices, which is probably a fraction than what they would have to pay if they arranged the same services themselves. The way we have it set up, the customer just needs to place their order. UPS will contact the customer to set up the duties (if applicable) when the machine arrives. Its very easy, he says.

Grizzly offers 21 different table saws, 21 different jointers and 38 various types of band saws (among other machines), including the G0636X (shown here). Its one of our favorite band saws and is coveted by most of the Magazine editors. (You can find a review for the G0636X bandsaw below.

And heres the best part of this announcement: Read most forums and youll hear nothing but praise for Grizzlys customer service. Customer expectations are met with the best customer service. Its not unusual to see forum replies from Balolia himself , thats something woodworkers are beginning to see from a few other companies. This builds trust.

Grizzly has a 200-seat call center with a large technical support staff to answer any questions or walk customers through any procedures. Grizzly’s manuals for machines are written in the U.S., and Grizzly maintains a parts warehouse that stocks more than 1,000,000 replacement parts. This includes parts from machines older than 25 years.

Congratulations Canadian woodworkers. Please share your feedback if you make a purchase from Grizzly as part of this new operating plan. Please send me an e-mail.
